Taroko: Discover Taiwan's Magnificent Marble Gorge

Taroko, located in eastern Taiwan, is renowned for its breathtaking marble gorge, forming part of the Taroko National Park. The name “Taroko” means “magnificent and beautiful” in the Truku indigenous language, reflecting the area’s stunning landscapes. The gorge, carved by the Liwu River over millions of years, features sheer cliffs, deep canyons, and lush forests. Historically, the area was inhabited by the Truku people, whose culture and traditions add a rich  cultural layer to the park. Key attractions include the Eternal Spring Shrine, Swallow Grotto, and the Tunnel of Nine Turns.
