Panda Lake, or Xiongmao Hai (熊猫海), is a stunning alpine lake located in the Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sichuan, China. Nestled at an elevation of 2,587 meters, it is renowned for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, which vividly reflect the surrounding snow-capped peaks and dense forests.

The lake gets its name from the legend that pandas once roamed its shores to drink from its pristine waters. However, there are no wild pandas living in the area today. If you’re hoping to see pandas during your trip, visiting the nearby Wolong National Nature Reserve or Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is a better option.
