Exploring the Alpine Charm of Cortina: Host of the Winter Olympics 2026

Cortina d’Ampezzo, commonly referred to as Cortina, is a picturesque resort town located in the Dolomites mountain range of northern Italy. Renowned for its stunning alpine scenery, Cortina is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and winter sports aficionados. It has hosted the Winter Olympics in 1956 and continues to attract visitors with its world-class ski slopes, hiking trails, and mountain biking routes. In addition to its outdoor activities, Cortina offers charming streets lined with boutiques, cafes, and restaurants, as well as cultural attractions such as museums and art galleries.

In 2026, Cortina, along with Milan, will host the Winter Olympics for the second time. I’m eagerly anticipating this exciting event!

Cortina d’Ampezzo, meist einfach Cortina genannt, ist ein malerischer Ferienort in den Dolomiten im Norden Italiens. Cortina ist bekannt für seine atemberaubende Bergkulisse und ein beliebtes Ziel für Outdoor-Liebhaber und Wintersportler. 1956 fanden hier die Olympischen Winterspiele statt, und auch heute noch lockt Cortina Besucher mit erstklassigen Skipisten, Wanderwegen und Mountainbike-Strecken an. Neben Outdoor-Aktivitäten bietet Cortina charmante Straßen mit Boutiquen, Cafés und Restaurants sowie kulturelle Attraktionen wie Museen und Kunstgalerien.
