Kukur Tihar: Celebrating the Bond Between Humans and Dogs

Kukur Tihar, also known as the Festival of Dogs, is a part of the five-day Tihar festival celebrated in Nepal and some regions of India. It falls on the second day of Tihar, which is a Hindu festival similar to Diwali. On this day, dogs are honored and celebrated for their loyalty and friendship. They are adorned with garlands, tikas (red marks on their foreheads), and offered delicious food as a token of respect and love. This celebration acknowledges the special bond between humans and dogs, recognizing their role as protectors and companions.

Kukur Tihar, auch bekannt als das Fest der Hunde, ist Teil des fünftägigen Tihar-Festivals, das in Nepal und einigen Regionen Indiens gefeiert wird.
